Freedom Locomotion System Presentation video – what I hope is a game changing VR locomotion solution

Hmm, I kind of “sense” what was intended happening, but what I am experiencing feels very out of sync and semi random. It doesn’t happen at a regular interval, and when it does happen it is definitely after a step has occurred and my other leg is already raised. There is a moment when you have put your foot down and haven’t raised your other leg, that isn’t what’s happening. It’s almost like a Parkinson’s simulator, which my father has. It’s like your brain is doing the right thing, but your body isn’t in sync.

That’s weird… I haven’t experienced that myself on my end. Any chance you’d be able to take a vid of it and share with me? There’s possibly some bug I just haven’t been aware of till now, because it’s conflated with everything else that’s happening in the system.

edit doing a bit of further digging, what seems to fit your description is when you look down quickly it halts you momentarily. It’s supposed to stop you from inadvertantly moving around when you just look around with your head when looking around… I’ll see what I can do to tweak it so it’s more robust.

Sadly the FreedomLocomotion.exe just puts me at 0,0,0 and it does not start the game in the vive headset
Happily the version on steam installed and worked.
This thing is awesome!

That’s super weird! The only difference between the Steam and versions are that I put the version in a nested folder (to keep the same format I’ve been using since the first upload), before zipping it up and uploading to itch.

No one has commented on it either until now, so I just assumed it was fine. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I’ll get it sorted out (if I can replicate the issue).

Have you put anymore thought into releasing this system on ether the marketplace or gumroad? Great work! Have been watching this for a while!

Still my favorite VR Locomotion system. Would it be possible to release a mod for Robo Recall without releasing your code? Might be a good way to figure out what it would it take to add it to a project you didn’t design.
