Far Shadow Cascades not affected by r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades

The number of far shadow cascade maps is not affected by the variable ‘r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades’. Scalability is thus not applied correctly.

In the picture below ‘Far Shadow Cascadee Count’ was set to 4 in the directional light.

Similar issue here with 4.18. If the sum of ‘Num Dynamic Shadow Casdades’ and ‘Far Shadow Cascade Count’ exceeds 4, Far Shadows get invisible no matter what value ‘r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades’ has. This is pretty bad for my open world project…
