Greetings everyone!
I hit a problem that I can’t find any solution here so far (at least going back to early 2019 as for checking other topics).
I have been studying UE for several days. After a CTD, now any project I’m opening (even just newly builded) is unlit. I.e. no actors are visible, everything is dark. No lights work. When a project is loading, there is just a short blink where the scene/level is visible (in ‘lit’ moded viewport).
The ‘funny part’ starts when I hit ‘Play (in new window)’. Of course everything in ‘game window’ - except HUD, icons etc - is black. But suddenly in basic UE editor’s viewport all become lit and visible as normal - and it stays this way until I exit the ‘game window’.
Adding / changing directional/static light on a scene doesn’t seem to affect the outcome.
I have no clue what is going on, except it’s global - i.e. not depending on level or project. It’s rather unlikely that I’ve changed something in ‘Editor Preferences’ since I’m just starting and didn’t open these settings until now (I’ve taken a look just now to see what’s going on here).
(Maybe I should hit ‘Reset to Default’ there? What do you think?)
I’ll be appreciated for your help.
It will be quite hard to learn the engine having only unlite mode and not being able to check ‘play’ mode
