I stopped working on it pretty much after the last patch. I only attempted a custom cached shadowmap optimization which I scrapped as it didn’t reach the quality I wanted.
but no updates, no multiplayer, no game modes, no new weapons are coming, the game is what it is.
the low amount of sales and following make working on it a total waste of time - if I release a patch no one will replay it just because of ‘small fixes and improvements’ and it will not generate any more sales from it. and I get no useful learnings anymore, UDK is so old that anything new I might learn is mostly irrelevant to newer engines.

CobaltUDK is still working on his Bayblon project it seems? no idea if he has something on the side (I don’t work with him)
personally I’m doing R&D and developing tools for a new project with UE5. but it’s very early and I don’t even have the game concept fleshed out yet.

Sad, well I did try UE5, there were a lot of errors bugs and stuff, any idea if they fixed or when they will bring a fixing patch? I love it already the graphics the UI big good change.

it’s just a natural evolution from UE4. Unreal is my engine of choice and I really don’t like working with deprecated engines. Bugs will always come and go as ever, but being stuck in a software with bugs you cannot fix or features you need that will never come (like with UDK) is very discouraging to me.

the UE4->UE5 jump doesn’t feel as big as the UE3->UE4 jump back then but Nanite is already impressive and Lumen is very promising. And the engine will continue to improve and evolve, the same way UE 4.26 is a very different beast compared to UE 4.0.
There’s errors and bugs but it’s an early access version - not good if you’re about to ship a game but good if you’re just starting a project.

I continue working on the game in my spare time and paying the house mortgage. I am in the rat race, the one you never win.
