Dropdown menus disappear instantly

after using the engine for a while I get an issue where every dropdown menu closes instantly after opening it. Like when I right click to add a new node the menu closes before I can search or click on anything. Restarting the engine fixes it for a while but it always come back after a while. I have no idea what’s triggering it though. Any ideas?

I’ve been experiencing the same problem, hoping that it gets fixed!

I am experiencing this problem as well. I’ll be using Unreal as normal for 10-30 minutes, then it starts freaking out like this. Restarting Unreal fixes it for me, until it starts happening again within 10-30 minutes.

I’m using 4.25.3, btw

that sucks :frowning: could be a windows issue since we’re on different unreal versions idk

I’m also experiencing that. It completely breaks the workflow to have to restart UE constantly.

Also experiencing it still.

Here are related threads to it. At the moment solution seems to be installing older version of studio drivers:

happening to me too. this is worse than crap in Unity. cant say im surprised though. why would this be an easy transition.

From poster shubyyy_yg:

Nvidia drivers from 461.09 onwards introduced a new feature called Multiplane Overlays, which apparently has some issues. The temporary solution for this is provided on this Nvidia page:

https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5157

Running the mpo_disable.reg file will disable multiplane overlays on your system, which seems to fix the numerous issues I have had with UE and Chrome. There’s also a mpo_restore.reg to re-enable the multiplane overlays later.

been having the same issue for a couple months now

Did you try the MPO registry fix?

Same issue here, seven months later. Plz help? I’m on Unreal 4.27.2.

4.27.2, same issue, occurs after a few hours of being in the same project. Have to reopen project to fix, very annoying.

Having issue on 4.27.2. as well. Not only do I get this issue, sometimes the windows turn black completely, and sometimes the whole editor is flickering. Makes it borderline unusable I have to restart it every 20 minutes.

Elhoim’s answer is probably the correct one

Seems to be caused by having multiple windows using the GPU simultaneously, which of course since our web browsers use the GPU these days, it’s impossible not to have multiple GPU windows open lol

I am experiencing this issue after the most recent UEFN update. I have to restart my UEFN every 10-20 minutes and it sometimes bugs out my other taps as well and causes the entire screen to go black. Did anyone find a fix for this?
