Summary
Distance Fields work correctly in UEFN but when you launch session, Distance Fields no longer apply to per object, but rather across the whole mesh of your material that has the functionality.
What’s happening on my custom water material is the foam ripples turn on and off across the entire surface in game rather than around objects only. I’ve tried turning off “Affects distance field lighting” on my water mesh to no avail.

Steps to Reproduce
Create a Distance Field mask in a material using “Distance to nearest object” node to visualize distance fields on meshes.
Expected Result
A black shadow will appear on your mesh when it comes in contact with another mesh both in the editor and in game.
Observed Result
It works visually in the editor but not in game
