Disable Specular Reflection in a specific material??????

This is super nerdy question, I think.

Is there a way to have a specific material/surface do not show the specular reflection of a specific light?

I DO NOT WANT TO TURN THE SPECULAR HIGHLIGHT TO 0

Then the answer is no.

You can use lighting channels to isolate the mesh from a particular light but that will remove the direct lighting as well as the specular reflection.

I was hoping there is a way other than using the channels.
