Hello,
Sorry for the inconvenience, could someone explain to me why I get this white line on the screen? It only appears on the right side and only when I walk over decals. The truth is that I don’t know what it could be due to.
I’m using UE5, What I have been able to discover is that when I remove the alpha from said decal those strange lines disappear, but of course I also destroy the shape of the decal. I have tried with different illuminations and it is still happening, activating and deactivating lumen etc… I also tried disabling nanite in case it was some kind of problem with the transparencies. But I don’t fix the problem either.
If someone can help me, I would appreciate it very much.
Thanks!
Nothing has this problem in the world? haha
Hi Bassline,
I took a look at this and was able to reproduce it (5.0.1).
It looks to be dependent on the size of the viewport. For example, I can only see the line in my screenshot at certain viewport resolutions. (This is probably due to some ‘off by one’ error in the decal rendering code)
You’ll also notice that I took the screenshot in ‘unlit’ mode, this indicates it’s not a problem with any lighting or post-process effects.
The good news is that it doesn’t seem to be a problem at full-screen resolution (press F11)
Also worth noting that I’m only seeing this with ‘semi transparent’ decals (gray values in opacity mask)
Best paths forward might be to submit a bug report or wait until 5.1 to see if it’s been fixed.
