When a player spawns (or respawns) within a day sequence device’s area of effect the sky light and sunlight does not appear. Lighting only functions when leaving the area it influences and then returning. This may be happening due to there being multiple day sequence devices on the map in different areas. Note that the fog from the device does function so the device is registering that the player is within it but for whatever reason the lighting does not function.
If I remember correctly there should only be one day sequence device in a map as they effect the whole map and clash.
If you wan’t several of them, use the post process volume instead.

Thanks, a pretty rubbish limitation as it means it isn’t really possible to vary lighting for different parts of the map since post-processing it just going to modify the Gamma and not the direction of the light. Maybe I’ll see if the UE5 Skylight and Sky Atmosphere volumes are more reliable…
