Summary
Custom Sound Cues created from imported audio do not play during gameplay or Live Edit. The audio only becomes briefly audible for a fraction of a second at the exact moment the game session is ended. Built-in Epic Sound Cues work correctly under the same conditions.

Audio
Steps to Reproduce
-
Import a custom audio file and create a Sound Cue from it (Wave Player → Looping enabled, properly connected to Output).
-
Confirm the Sound Cue is correctly set up (Attenuation and spatialization disabled inside the Cue).
-
Place an Audio Player Device (or Radio Device) and assign the custom Sound Cue.
-
Configure the device with:
Enabled During Phase = Always
Enable Volume Attenuation = Off
Enable Spatialization = Off
Restart Audio when Activated = Off
Play Location = Device
Can be Heard By = Everyone -
Launch Live Edit or publish the island as private and start the game.
-
Trigger the audio (Auto Play, Verse Play(), or event binding).
Expected Result
Custom Sound Cue plays normally and continuously (or according to the device settings), just like built-in Epic Sound Cues.
Observed Result
- Complete silence during Live Edit and during gameplay on a published private island.
- Audio becomes briefly audible only for a fraction of a second when game is ended.
- Built-in Epic Sound Cues play correctly with the exact same device settings and setup.
Platform(s)
PC (UEFN)
Additional Notes
- Problem occurs both in Live Edit and on published private islands.
- Changing Virtualization Mode, attenuation, spatialization, Restart settings, Play Location, and Enabled During Phase does not fix the issue.
- Creating a brand-new Audio Player / Radio Device and a brand-new Sound Cue does not help.
- Epic’s own Sound Cues work without any issues under identical conditions.
