Summary

Progress made in Creative 1.0 sessions is not saving properly. In multiple cases, hours of work are lost, and backups do not restore to the most recent state.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Load into a Creative 1.0 island
  2. Spend an extended amount of time building/editing (30+ minutes to 1+ hour)
  3. (Optional) Create a backup during the session
  4. Continue building for additional time
  5. Return to hub and exit Creative normally
  6. Reload the same island in a new session

Expected Result

  • All progress made during the session should save correctly after leaving the island
  • The island should load back in with the most recent changes intact
  • If a backup is created, Restore Backup should load the latest backup from that session, not an older version

Observed Result

  • Progress made during the session is lost after exiting Creative
  • The island loads in a previous state, missing recent changes
  • Using Restore Backup loads an older backup from a previous session, not the most recent one
  • Issue occurs inconsistently, but results in complete loss of work from that session

Would it be possible to get some of your log files of you going into Creative when the save fails? The more recent it is the better

Unfortunately I’m on Xbox and only use Creative 1.0, so I don’t have access to UEFN log files. The issue happens directly in Creative sessions on consoles.

What I’ve noticed is that after spending time building, some sessions fail to save entirely after leaving the island. In some cases even creating a backup beforehand does not preserve the most recent progress, and Restore Backup loads an older save instead. Last night I did notice the issue happens after spending more than 30 minutes in a session and any progress after that is not saved.
