Notes: That ^ is the fps when in a Dense scene (cave, Reflections)
The fps increases too ^ in a level like the ‘StarterMap’.
I’m actually REALLY interested in because I am definitely looking at upgrading my machine to do some Unreal Engine work. I was told by Unreal that on the site was Recommended, and not Minimum…so I figured I would give it a whirl since I’m running items like Blender, Maya trials, Photoshop, and such.

Processor: Intel E8400 3.0Ghz Wolfdale Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4GB DDR2-800
Graphics: PNY Nvidia GeForce 9800GT 1GB
Average fps: After blowing out dust – 30-45FPS on Medium settings / 20-30FPS on Epic in Office Blueprint.
Settings: Epic then Medium
Notes: is an older machine that I am looking at upgrading, but figured I would take a . It actually runs fine for a few examples, but my video shuts off and have to hard shutdown machine. I believe I am actually overheating the card and it hits it’s safety and shuts down since I think my cooling is bad. Did the same thing to me when I attempted UDK 3.
**EDIT: **Confirmed…my graphic card starts hitting like almost 98c when I started .
EDIT 2: I cleaned out a dust b-u-n-n-y (apparently the full word is marked as offensive?) the size of a small rodent…and now my card hits about 65-70c and in the Office Blueprint I can run Epic settings hitting 20-30fps and Medium gives me about 30-45 fps – Good enough to work on some basic items, etc. Just have to watch my heat!
Downloading now on my MacBook to see if any improvements

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M
Average fps: 120 (simple scenes), 35 (particle heavy scenes)
Settings: Ultra
Notes: Although I’ve seen numerous threads saying that laptops are not optimized for UE4, I was able to get more than acceptable framerate even in Elemental Demo - the framerate varied from 30 to 40 on Ultra at 1080p. In Subway Reflections I usually get about 50 fps, and in simple scenes - 120.
OS: Windows 7 64bit

Processor: Intel i7 2600k @ 4.8 Ghz
Memory: 12 GB
Graphics: 2x XFX Radeon R290 (Crossfire mode)
Average fps: 30fps ???
Settings: default
Notes: Any idea why am I getting that low fps with setup? I’m getting around 20-65 fps . card 100% utilized.
EDIT1: Tried turning crossfire off with no increase. setting graphic settings to low also no increase. 25-30 fps in cave…
EDIT2: Tried putting 1 card out completely. FPS now around 35-55
Something is defenetly not right here. Are you with the 4.1 version?Ive read that it has a framerate but still 35fps with a r9 290 is not aceptable.Maybe try to get something like gpu z i think it has a option to see how much of the gpu is used just open a game in unreal+gpu z opened in one side of the window and see if the graphics card is being used at maximum ore not.

Average fps: ^Roughly 10 ~ 15 more FPS compared to the GTX 560Ti > (32 ~ 40 — 42 ~ 60 FPS)
Settings: Default
Notes:Serious lag and almost crashes in the Elemental Demo…Now with the R9 270X, I can run through it like butter
Running 1x 24" Dell, and 1x 27" LG Flatron E2742.
Would be nice to know if Crossfire really helps with performance in UE4.
I recently bought a XFX R9 270X and thinking about buying a second one for increased performance in UE4 (and CE3…The 270X does fantastic already…I just want mooaare!! :p).
Any luck so far? Could it be that UE4 doesn’t support Crossfire setups?

I would just like to say something about the specs required in order to design anything in engine are insanely high.
Even just to make a simple mobile app or 2d platformer its overkill.
Also you have lost a huge number of skilled developers due to these Hardware Requirements.Only the Guys with the Biggest and Bestest get in the door leaving the rest of us out in the cold.
Tbh i will probably just use Unity3d for most everything over resource hungry Engine.
I think if you would like to see alot more people making good use of Engine then Please consider some kind of slipstream lower-end spec development environment.
Just remember that we’re Average Joe with computers that have 2-4 Core CPU’s , 2-3GB Ram , GPU which can play UT2k4 beautifully and Ut3 on low - med settings … 200+ HDD space.
Not Pixar or Weta with 128Gb Ram $10,000 GPU and enough HDD to spare the world over.
…And more Cores then an Orchard.
Sorry for my bluntness , but i feel needed to be said. Also will be one reason why you will not get so many subscriptions … simply because only a minority have Ninja Kickass Computers and therefore only they can use the new studio.
Pitty cause i for one am very interested in getting on board with .
There is a way surely… where you can make it work for the majority …
One idea is the development process be lower polly then once the developer is happy with it they can upload it to your super computers for rendering and binaires
Forgot to mention that we also have more Bandwidth these days and can afford to upload 1-2GB as well.
