Summary
I’d like to report a longstanding and persistent bug in Fortnite Creative that affects the functionality of the Class Selector device. Despite the update several years ago that expanded the maximum number of teams from 16 to 100 and classes from 16 to 254, the Class Selector device still does not correctly apply class or team changes beyond Team 16 in published islands. While everything functions properly in private sessions, once an island is published and played publicly, the Class Selector device becomes unreliable or non-functional for any team number above 16. This severely limits gameplay design and mechanics that rely on more than 16 teams or classes, making it impossible to fully take advantage of the expanded team/class limits in live games. It seems the device is still partially tied to legacy limitations despite the UI and documentation supporting higher values. This issue has been present for years and affects a wide range of creators who aim to build large-scale or complex team-based game modes. Please investigate and resolve this inconsistency so we can fully utilize the expanded capabilities of the Creative tools in both private and public sessions.

Steps to Reproduce
-
Open Fortnite Creative and create a new island (or use an existing one).
-
Place a Class Selector device in the map.
-
Configure the Class Selector to assign players to a team or class above 16 (e.g., Team 17 or Class 17).
-
Assign a spawn pad or trigger that activates the Class Selector.
-
Publish the island.
-
Enter the published island from the “Discover” tab or island code using another account or as a public player.
-
Activate the Class Selector device as intended in the game.
Expected Result
The player should be switched to the specified team and/or class (above 16), and all relevant class/team-based logic should apply as configured (e.g., permissions, device visibility, objectives).
Observed Result
In the published island, the Class Selector fails to assign the player to any team or class above 16. The change either does not occur at all, or the player is defaulted to an incorrect class/team (often remaining on their original team/class). The same setup works perfectly in unpublished/private sessions.
