Chests Disappearing when launching session or pushing changes bug! UEFN

Summary

This is a bug in UEFN : So I placed several chests down in my UEFN project from the chests and ammo gallery and when I launched a session onto forntite all the chests had disappeared! So I checked UEFN and all the chests had disappeared from there as well! So it seems when you launch a session or push changes the chests just disappear. Is anyone else getting this issue and does anyone know how to solve it?

This is happening to me as well. Spent a lot of hours placing chests back only for them to be deleted again.

When you launch a session they disappear. You can see the unsaved changes in the bottom bar. I had zero changes before I launched the session. These are all the chest and ammo boxes, etc. being removed.

You can revert all changes and they reappear.

Please help. I can not publish my map anymore.

This issue is still affecting my map. I place chest down but they are not visible in my game session. All of the chests on my map have disappeared once again.

The left side is in session and the right side is the editor. I can see the chests in the editor.

There are other posts mentioning this as well:

So it seems the chests and ammo are removed from my map when I do a memory calculation. I did not catch this previously and synced my changes which destroyed my project forcing me to place new chests in all locations because I did not want to lose all the other changes in that sync.

When I launch my session the chests do not appear in the first round, but on the second round of my 3 round battle royale they appear.

When I publish my map all of the chests appear in round 1 and the game seems fineā€¦

But I have to remember to isolate my changes so that I can rollback after publishing so that the missing chests are not permanent. This is working for me as a workaround, but would love to get this resolved.

It continues to happen on my map ever single time I do a memory calculation.

Firstly nice Fortnite skin

If you could maybe make a blank isalnd and record the process of making the blank island placing the issued items and showing the actual ext/issue/failure in a video.

I always find if possible the best way to help Epic is to try and work out the issue or at the very least show in the simplest form the issue via a video

Yes, I get it. A video would have been perfect. Unfortunately, I did not take the time.

This issue has mysteriously stopped happening as of a few days ago. I have been closely monitoring it so that I would not prematurely say thisā€¦ As of now my chests are no longer disappearing after the memory calc.

I neglected to mention previously that the auras on my chests are not near the chests. They are 10-15 meters away from the object. I did not mention this as I thought it may be a separate issue, but just in caseā€¦ I will posts a video here soon.

Here are the vids of the way my chests are performing in the game and the editor. You can see that the FX Glow & Smoke Sheet component does not stay aligned with the chests. Therefore in the game they appear meters away from each other and do not perform as expected. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

If this helps, I discovered that the chests in the greasy grove and titled towers island presets have chests, and they seem perfectly fine to me. They donā€™t seem to disappear, and the ā€œchest auraā€ thing appears to be normal too. Just right click the chest in the islands and select copy and then paste it in any project you want!

Your post allowed me to figure out what was wrongā€¦ The problem occurs when I attach the chests to a parent actor. As soon as I do this I can see the aura outline move away from the chest. Like the pivot is off or something. I guess you canā€™t attach them to another actor. I copied and pasted a chests as you suggested which worked great, but when I attach it to a parent it messes the aura up.

Thank you. I would not have fooled around with this more if you didnā€™t get me motivated! lol.

By detaching my chests they are all working as expected.

No problem man! Glad I could help lol

That in itself sounds like a bug tho. Epic should look into that

What if you start using scene graph and this happens doesnā€™t seem right to me
