Can't Push Verse Changes on Large Maps

Summary

On two of our projects, we have experienced problems with pushing Verse changes. I believe the problem is occurring because of the projects size approaching its limits. This also results in the session becoming broken. It will infinitely load saying it’s pushing changes. Then if try to close session and launch again it will break and put you in the creative hub until you completely close UEFN and Fortnite.

Project Size

Steps to Reproduce

  • On a map with a large project size, make any verse change and save
  • Build Verse Code
  • click on Push Verse Changes
  • wait until the last light in the universe dies, or restart UEFN

Expected Result

The expected result is to have the Verse changes push without other changes.

Observed Result

The session breaks and you are stuck infinitely pushing changes. If you try to launch a new session, it will put you into the creative hub. Only way to fix is to completely restart UEFN and Fortnite killing workflows.

Platform(s)

PC
Console
UEFN

Additional Notes

This absolutely kill workflows, and I don’t think it’s an intended feature.
I believe it is due to validating so many assets that the push times out. Not sure tho

Hi @Atlas_Stoney1 ,

The problem has been found before

LogOutputDevice: Error: Ensure condition failed: !IsBunchTooLarge(Connection, Bunch)
[File:D:\build++Fortnite\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\Engine\Private\DataChannel.cpp] [Line: 1161]
LogOutputDevice: Error: Attempted to send bunch exceeding max allowed size. BunchSize=299039, MaximumSize=262144 Channel:

MaximumSize=262144 bytes

Bumping this post because the issue still hasn’t been resolved. I’m still receiving server breaks while pushing verse changes and if I sync changes while its pushing all changes.

Bumping this post again. With the most recent update, now when the server breaks it no longer lets you launch into a broken server. Instead, it prevents project upload with the error message “Project Upload Failed: Session update already in progress”. Feels like the problem was masked rather than fixed.

Are you sure you’re not over the maximum size? Could you get your logs for us so we can check into it?

@Atlas_Stoney1 - see above.

FORT-814475 changed to ‘Needs More Info’. We’re missing information that would help us determine the source of the issue.
