Can't launch Fortnite separately if UEFN is running since this update

Summary

Our project takes around 40 mins to launch. I don’t want to simply wait that to see something inside Fortnite’s shop or a new gamemode like Reload. However, the exe wont work as it used to, now it tells you to use epic games launcher, which is annoying. The epic games launcher shows fortnite is running, when its not, because it thinks UEFN is also Fortnite. The latter is a bug never fixed and now the whole thing is just inconvenient.

Steps to Reproduce

Open UEFN
Try to launch FN separately (no live edit)

Expected Result

You cant

Observed Result

Exe opens up FN like it used to.
EGL doesn’t show FN as running when its not and you can launch from there too

I am having the same issue and no resolution and the game will not load, ever.

this will never be fixed, it’s been an issue since UEFN came out and they never say they’re going to fix it.

This bug is starting to make me wanna cry so hard… This is because UEFN is considered a part of Fortnite…


The point is that UEFN and Fortnite are even crashing a lot with latest update (Fortnite crashed like 10 times in 5 hours, with DX12) and everytime Fortnite crashes, I have to restart UEFN too, because Fortnite will only launch with UEFN closed.
Hopefully they make UEFN a standalone program and not an add-on of Fortnite because this bug duplicates, triplicates time spent working…

Yeah its been around 3 updates they did this and its the worst QOL they could have done, as well as preventing the .exe to run directly without Epic Game Launcher. Now its triple the time to do the same thing, and it causes more headaches for no reason.
