AI wants me to uninstall and reinstall because SwarmAgent Icon is not avail in systray by clock. Was it moved and or renamed in The upgrades?
HI @JanetStandeford ,
If you are using 5.6 version then it’s a known bug and should be fixed in the next update
You can try doing this:
-
First of all, go to the Epic Games Launcher and click on “Verify”
-
Then go to the folder where you have a working version of Unreal Engine installed (e.g., UE 5.4 or UE 5.5, depending on the one you have), Inside that folder, navigate to:
Engine > Binaries > DotNET
(There you should find files related to SwarmAgent.) -
Copy the entire DotNET folder and go to the installation folder of Unreal Engine 5.6 (or the version where you’re experiencing issues)
4.Inside its structure, navigate to:
UE_5.6>Engine > Binaries
-
Right-click inside the Binaries folder and select Paste , when the message “Replace the files in the destination” pops up, ignore it and click “Skip these files” (Do not replace the existing files).
-
Open your project in Unreal Engine .
At the top menu, click on Build and then select “Build All Levels” .
7.You should now see the expected message
You can also read that post , they were talking about that.
Hope it helps!
Is there a web address I can download that file from? This is my first version as I just discovered you through Gemini ai Pro.
No,as far as I know, there’s no official web address to download SwarmAgent directly.
Since this is a known bug in Unreal Engine 5.6, the only workaround for now is to install an older version of Unreal, like 5.5, and then copy the DotNET folder into your 5.6 installation.
Instead of the whole folder wouldn’t just that file work? I would be concerned I would lose any other updates in the rest of the folder if I replace it entirely.
lol yeah Ai is horrified by that approach!
It recommends keeping both installs and doing all my simpler tasks in the 5.6 and transferring into the 5.4 to finish off
