Building stops working

Hey there, i’ve been working on a 0 delay 1v1 map (you all know the one, 2 ramps and a reset button). everything seemed to work until i was doing some minor fixes here and there and suddenly building on the map wouldn’t work anymore. i checked all the settings, everything seemed to be normal and correct but still, when i loaded up the map, i couldn’t build anymore. so i made a new map to trace back the steps where this bug would occur and it seems like it just happens after i added 2 ramps and removed the standard blank template floors. this seems to be the moment where i cannot place builds anymore (build preview is blue, so it should work, but when trying to confirm the build placement, the piece doesn’t go down). but on my first map, this wasn’t a problem until 5 minutes before i wanted to release it. can anyone explain to me why building stops working on these maps?

Heya,

Are the props your using for the floor and ramps registered to structural grid ?

I remember a post saying something about the grid floor.

Perhaps the grid floor needs to be present, would it work if you scaled down the grid floor and dropped it down by increments of 384 units until its out of sight ???

I’m interested to see whats causing this…

idk, the weird thing is that my first 1v1 map never had this issue until the very end. for that one i ideleted the floors immediately. but i had different ramps. maybe replacing the ramps is what did it. that being said. any idea how to build the actual player built ramps in the editor? i can’t seem to find those pieces, but a lot of maps have them as their starting ramps.

I think you can place builds in Edit Mode during a launched session, if you can’t place them you may be able to use Creative to find a floor that will let you.
Once you place them you can change thier settings to indestructible.

Just in case I’ll mention your floor needs to have it height at 0 or increments of +/- 384 from 0, if its slightly below these values the builds won’t connect.

Looks like “Forcibly Structurally Supported” and “Register with Structural Grid” has to be on for the ramps, otherwise it won’t work. if anyone wants to test the map and let me know what needs to be changed, the code is 2458-4775-0296
