You can manually update the dev kit by downloading update files from google drive and the updated binaries from the github and replacing the current ones. It is 2.4 gb.
With total conversions, since you modify the files directly without copying them to your working folder, do you lose your changes if you update/verify your devkit via the launcher ?
As far as i have seen after using it for half a day the 201.6 is extremely unstable and introduced some issues to map making that i did not have previously, As i work with several landscapes being able to actually edit them is very important, It only gives me the option to alter my main landscapes, if i select any other landscape umap it just gives me the option to create a landscape, not sculpt them, So far i have been able to overcome this issue but it does make map making a bit more tedious then it already is
Yeah tell that to the 6 lvl 106 or higher cats, 4 Dimorphidons, and 3 T-rexes my tribe lost when 3 Alpha rexes plus 8 normal full damage rexes spawned from this mistake. Sorry but you are flat out wrong. Anyway the issue was fixed.

No. They will be copied to a backup folder in your launcher folder.
expecting that too, I can’t get the new items and dinos on my server since i have to use my mod and that excluded the new stuff.
Honestly the devkit update should be released at the same time as the game update.
It most likely will in the future but as of right now they are adding so much content (patch twice a week) and its better for them to have us wait abit as they usually release a .1 or .2 patch to fix broken stuff
Devkit now 3 major versions behind (201.6 -> 202 -> 203 -> 204)

Ordens… check out my recent post in the main forum on new versions of the game server deleting tamed dinos spawned from vanilla blueprints in TC mods. Scary stuff.
Well, i had no problems with that. I got problems with new dinos not harvesting since my tc overwrites original HarvestingComponents.
So stay clear of TC got it! I already had to redo my Bigfoots the animations stopped working
now 4 major versions behind
Makes me want to not bother doing any modding to be quite honest, since nothing will work

Fake references (to make new stuff working pre-devkit update) - ARK: Survival Evolved - Unreal Engine Forums this is stupid and proves y the updated need to happen together or devkit then proper ark were getting left in the dark with no possibility of being on the same lvl in a tc, ontop of that we still dont have stuff that was already told we would have (unlocked graphs) can we pretty please get some cooperation and we might have a better life together
Additionally it’s not a “solve” as anyone who has taken the smithy out of the game and split it into different crafting tables/types won’t able to craft these items w/o having a smithy. Specifically because these items have to be crafted on a smithy.
