Any way I can illuminate environment using particle emitters?


I have a particle system that emits a laser beam, basically. It’s done using an emissive material I’ve created myself and a ‘beam data’. I would like the beam to illuminate the surroundings no matter where placed.

For some reason I cannot tick the ‘Light as if static’ checkbox, and I didn’t have much success using the material on a simple cube either. The cube has ‘Use emissive for static lighting’ and ‘light as if static’ checked also, but it still doesn’t work.

Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Why not use a point / spot to do the lighting? The player wont know the difference…
