Perhaps a stupid question, the first time I participate in jam. Can I continue to work on the game I made for jam, and post about it some news in social networks?
Yep, there should be no issue with continuing on after the jam is over. Most jam organizers encourage participants to run with the product and make something of it!
Just make sure your submission to the Jam isn’t being modified after the submission date (today, Nov 9th). They will judge the build submitted today for the jam, but might disqualify for alterations after the deadline.
Also, you’re good on sharing news, updates, etc wherever you like
We have no information if the form is well send or not ?
Can’t find !
I will not change the version that I posted on the jam. I just do not want to wait a month, I would like to continue developing. If I have time, I would like to release for Christmas.
In my haste and scattered brain I failed to format the name of my file per the above requirements, please let me know if this will be a dis-qualifier and I’ll reship/rename and such. Project file was named UE4_Jam_Most_Unfortunate and should have been called something like NRBURNETTE_MOSTUNFORNUNATE ?
May we edit the submission to add a link to the video (which we’re only now able to produce)?
Sounds good, shouldn’t be a problem!
No way I was a few minutes late and I can’t even submit my game? I took off work and everything and had a little trouble with packaging at the end.
I’ve gone and done exactly the same thing with my own submission.
Just an update, for anyone who downloads my entry from the official post I discovered a few bugs that prevented game play proceeding past the first room. So if you’re interested in getting further than this (though I still don’t know if it’s fully playable just to warn you) then here’s a fixed version (the original link sent to Epic is still valid if you want to test it, just you won’t get very far and the enemy AI ignore you).
Sorry if this was asked somewhere else, but is there a way to confirm a submission was received?
Also, I would love to have a little piece of my game in the live stream video, but I have no way of producing that video…
Same here XD
I had the form open and filled out but wasn’t sure if I could submit it and edit the download link cause now has a 750mb limit and mine’s 772 so I had to upload to Google Drive. That’s lame so our team spent a week doing this just to not be able to submit it in the end?
Well this is was super hard! But I think overall, I had a great time working in Unreal. I learned as I worked, here’s a link if people would like to try our game: SadReactsOnly_TheFirstDawn.rar - Google Drive
It’s a buggy ofc, and nothing too great since it’s my first project but I can see myself developing games more in Unreal than Unity now! The transfer has been completed. Thank you very much for opportunity to take part in this JAM! And good luck to all you developers, your projects look fantastic! x
It’s not the most pleasant answer, but it is the most fair to all involved - the problem here was with your scheduling; you should have been ready to submit before the closing deadline. In our case, we actually had a reserve build already uploaded and ready to go just in case there would be a problem with getting our final build submitted in time due to things like unexpected upload or packaging issues.
No, you won’t be disqualified. We just don’t like digging around the files if we don’t have to
You can send me a message with a link for video.
You just got a message at the end telling you to sleep! Next time around I’ll make sure it sends out email confirmations.
You can download some screen capture software and record you playing your game?
I think next time it would be nice to go back to having a submission thread; otherwise it would be nice if the submissions could be made visible to participants. A big part of the jam is seeing what everyone else got up to, but with 250+ entrants, very few seem to have shown their game in the relevant thread
What I’d love to work towards is having a jam page, similar to , where we can host and see everyone’s game, also allowing for discussion and comments on each one. More things to consider.
By the way - we posted all the games to the original announcement.
I just noticed that there is no way of knowing which games are VR or not. On submission, I didn’t name Zelvania VR, so just a heads up…I blame Sleep deprivation … lol
I had a blast doing the MegJam and was my first Game Jam. Actually it was the first for all team members. The team was a Grandfather, Father, Son + Friend team. It was a great bonding experience(Digital Campout) and my son really enjoyed it though he still had to go to school (2nd grader). I look forward to future jams.
Made for Oculus Touch, tested on 1080 pc with no frame drop below 90fps. Not sure if the controls will work 100% with the Vive, no time to test that.
Zelvania

Due to internet conectivity issues , I missed the deadline by about half an hour…so unfortunate…really worked hard for making my first game for Oculus VR with touch support…if anyone wants to play it , here is the link - https://wetransfer.com/downloads/20fc28383ed3fe7b92807141ef6e678720171109192236/997288
