In the Mobile Preview and on device (Galaxy Note 1) Dynamic lights dont work at all.
All the properly lit objects in the image are set to Static. The light used is Stationary.
Hi Benjiko,
Currently, we do not support dynamic lighting in mobile devices. We are, however, working on dynamic shadows for mobile phones, look for this in future releases. For more information about our current roadmap, look here:
Is there any workaround to have the actors atleast not appear completely black for now?
Hi Benjiko,
In the details panel do you have the “Cast Static Shadow” set to true?
Yes, it’s set to true on the Directional light. Disabling it doesnt seem to have any effect.
EDIT: I made the materials emissive for now, just to get some color going.
Can you post a screenshot of your details panel so I can have a look at how you have them set up? Thank you!
This is an old question, but I assume we’re going by StackOverflow rules here, so I guess it never hurts to update an old question with newer information.
As of 4.5, dynamic shadows are supported on mobile platforms with movable lights to a maximum of 2 cascades. I’ve also tested this with stationary lights, but currently it doesn’t seem to handle per-object shadows or directional dynamic shadows.
However, I believe the black objects shown in this screenshot were caused by a different problem. Mobile platforms seem to require a lighting importance volume around your map in order for movable objects to accept lighting.
