I can’t seem to find away to do this, nor have I found an answer here. I want to know how I can use anamorphic lens flares instead of bokeh, either by replacing it or using some kind of directional blur. I did find something that seemed perfect on another question page (here) but the links are all broken, so I can’t do anything with it sadly. Any ideas? I would really prefer some kind of shader over a static image.
Hey, i had written that shader once (to be seen in the link you posted), however it turned out it wasn’t exactly a comfortable way of controlling an effect like this. I was unfortunately preoccupied with other things afterwards, which is why i couldn’t follow up on the stuff i did there.
Right now i think it would be best to replace the current bloom post fx with the anamorphic version rather than trying to plug this into the bloom effect. I just have to figure out a way to do this without having to change the engine source (which turned out to be a cumbersome method when dealing with continuous updates to the engine).
The shader in itself isn’t really difficult to make, performance however is where it might get tricky. I hope that some of these days i’ll get to back into continuing that, as there seems to be demand for it.
Maybe there is a possibility to use particles?
