5.4 Lighting difference between editor and packaged

There’s a huge difference when it comes to emissive lighting between the editor and the packaged version. Is anyone having this issue? It was fine in 5.3.2, but in 5.4 in editor, things are very bright.

I have auto exposure set to 1 in post process (in player character’ camera as well). Any ideas how to fix this?

Thank you, but that doesn’t seem to be the issue.
I have also tested with a new empty project in 5.4 with a very simple scene, and the mismatch is still present between editor and packaged version. It looks to be impacting emissive lighting specifically. The editor is brighter, while the packaged version is darker. The packaged version is identical to 5.3, so I assume there’s an issue with rendering in editor in 5.4, maybe.

Unfortunatelly, I don’t have time to investigate further, I will have to go back to 5.3.2.


Understood! If I come across additional information on 5.4 and the specific lighting issue you’re having, I’ll come back and post here so that you can avoid the issue in future 5.4 projects.

Yep 5.5 and 5.4 are same on GPU lightmass, 5.3.2 is darker.


on the left is vray imported light on right is default UE light. I also have problem with 5.3 on one scene light rectangle it doesn’t recognise light shape its always spot…

Is that on more than one project or one specific one?

So I made test scene, and one interior scene, both have darker lights on 5.3 than 5.4 and 5.5. Also when sun is static it doesn’t use shape of light but make something like spotlight source of light. Even if light is in interior all surrounded by walls, this Sun thing make problem, and just on 5.3, on 5.4 and 5.5 I dont have that problem.
