You have a critical error with copying Verse devices and links within them.

Summary

There have been many updates, but you still haven’t fixed this problem in Verse devices! When copying a device, links to the first device remain, and the copied device does not work. This happened a couple of months ago, and your team still hasn’t solved this problem. Also, please restore normal copying within the device. When I take a function in one device and copy it to another location in the same device, the connection between the original and the copied function is lost, and when the original function is changed or deleted, it breaks the entire device. Please remove the links you added. This is terrible!

Verse

Steps to Reproduce

Create a device, connect several props to it (this is especially painful in tycoon games), and copy this device along with the props. Previously, copying worked fine, and new props were linked to new devices. But now the new (copied device) is linked to the original device, and this has become impossible. Also, these stupid links that you added make it impossible to copy parameters within a single device. If I change the original from which the copy was made, the values in the copy also change. PLEASE RETURN EVERYTHING TO HOW IT WAS BEFORE.

Expected Result

Please correct this error. Restore normal device copying, and also remove these links inside the device! Return everything to how it was before the last few updates. With each update, everything works worse and worse.

Observed Result

Please correct this error. Restore normal device copying, and also remove these links inside the device! Return everything to how it was before the last few updates. With each update, everything works worse and worse.

same problem :enraged_face::enraged_face: I have 200 items configured in my verse device, and when I copy whole system, all linked connections is broken and don’t work properly. And the verse devcies that connected to another verse device not re-linked. It’s anoying and very hard to work.

I agree, it’s impossible to work like this

I have the same problem when copying a Verse device: sometimes it loses connection with the props, and sometimes it simply malfunctions or starts glitching. This affects not just one but many devices. There are also errors with standard devices, such as the Target: they don’t respond to hits or shots. If they are placed on the map and the project is published, they don’t work when the island is updated unless they are deleted and re-added. The new device, the Flight Cube, also glitches in both its variants. The problem is that it works during testing, but on a published island, after use, it doesn’t turn off the flight sound, and the noise continues throughout the game, requiring a restart.

The same problem is still occurring. Could you please fix it? It really interferes with work and makes it difficult to proceed.

Same problem, I haven’t been able to update the game for 1.5 months now

This is likely the same issue that I’ve reported here.
It’s quite a tricky one to demonstrate so I’ve included detailed reproduction steps.

References are not just lost or redirected, they look fine in the editor but are internally screwed up.
It looks to me like they become desynced or split, where part of the correct device is referenced (like the transform) along with some components of the wrong device, within the same variable.

Hopefully this issue gets the attention it deserves.

Thank you for the report, we’re looking into this.

I have the same problem, please do something about it.
