XR & SteamVR Support on MacOS (via VMs - seems to work)

Hi all,
Hello @VictorLerp

as there are some work around found to make SteamXR working on MacOS (in Windows virtual machines via Parallels / VMware Fusion), it would be great if Epic would find a way to make it “Normally” accessible and improve XR support of UE5 on MacOS.

Please check out this:
How to run SteamVR on Apple Silicon
Windows SteamVR is now possible on Apple Silicon!

And this (to get an impression of the Performance):

This would be super-great to get at least some XR running on Apple Dev Machines (especially with the AppleVision Pro UE5 Support released last week), so cross-platform XR prototyping & development could be done on one machine.

Thank you so much!

This isn’t a question of improving XR support on Mac for Unreal, it’s a question of having an OpenXR runtime that works on MacOS. If there was one, we would try to support it.

Actually, Unity 6 has a OpenXR SDK that can be used to build native Mac VR games, I tired it out today
