Workflow / Methodology advice for cross-platform VR? (Gear VR + Oculus Rift)

Hello,

I’m new to Unreal Engine as I mainly worked with Unity3D so far.

For a current project targeting Gear VR and Oculus Rift + Touch Controllers, I am looking for advice about your usual methology/experience when working on such projects.

Here are the few main points I am wondering about :

  • I noticed the very big package size when building projects from Unreal compared to Unity.
    What is your personal experience about optimizing the size of your build, and some advice you would share about it?

  • Being new to the engine I am also curious about how do you usually proceed to organize the project to be build for mobile and desktop VR, while keeping, if possible, the same Unreal project.

Concerning the input/interaction, the design is already thought to work with both, but I am still curious to hear your hints on the subject.
