is back with another new pack named Medieval Docks! We’re continuing with the Medieval theme after releasing Medieval Village last month.
This pack has a darker theme featuring grungier assets, thatched roofs, and more dead foliage.

WHAT IS THIS PACK?
While Medieval Village featured more of a booming area, Medieval Docks takes a step towards the shorelines where trades, farmers and boats reside.
It has a darker tone with grungier props, houses, and dock areas. The surrounding vegetation follows the theme with more dead branches, autumn type trees, and tall grass. Something we haven’t seen in most other packs are BOATS! We provided a few variations to help populate the shoreline.
The docks and foundation walls are all modular so users can mixand match to create a large shoreline area. There’s still lots to do but we feel the packhas a great tone and atmosphere already.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE SO FAR?

  • greyblock and nailed down scale of demo level
  • set atmosphere and tone of pack
  • great start on the foliage
  • created modular docks and foundation parts
  • first pass of houses
  • first pass on boats

WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO MAKE?

  • polish/optimize the trees
  • add VFX & Audio to breath that extra bit of life into the world
  • bit more variation in houses
  • optimize scene with LODs, occluders, etc.
  • populate marketplace area

These are early shots made in Unreal Engine 4. Enjoy!

This should be released on our own store sometime in October and Unreal Marketplace & Unity Asset Store in November.

For now, check out our other**products** on the marketplace, we have Medieval Village releasing on October 4th!

Please leave a comment or question below, thanks for reading!

@PolyPixel3D - This looks awesome!

Just a head’s up, though, the color of your text for the post is the same color as the background for the Dark forum theme.

Looking good so far, nice work. What sort of boats are you going to include in this pack?

Adding on to this - is the collision on the boats suitable for making them walkable/ridable vehicles? E.g., collision set up so that the hull of the boat doesn’t intersect the interior etc. (if applicable).

Looks good! Can’t wait for these to come out on the marketplace!

Maybe add some types of separate chimneys, which have a small containment fire place at the bottom.

I hope that would be the case.

Anyway great job as usual

My 2 cents, you should add a bit more fishing-related stuff:

Fish racks
Fishing nets
Open crates (no need to fill them with fishes)
Big buckets
Partially built boats (the structures)
Fishing rods

Also, since these seems to be missing from your village pack (that I’m going to buy tomorrow, so not 100% sure about it) I would really love:
a well
a waterpump
a simple stone fountain

Looks great guys! Can’t wait to see more.

Looks good. Your guys work is great and always getting better.

as a request, can you do a modern modular suburb houses/neighbourhood pack.

Medieval Castle area first :stuck_out_tongue:

to answer both your questions:
They’re both generic-type boats, small and large designed to be able to be walked/ride on. However, it’s not rigged as it’s a static prop. There are no interiors since we couldn’t figure out how to make the interiors be dry underneath the water line.

thank you for all your suggestions! we’ve cut a few things already due to running out of time but these are great for a future update as we always tend to add new content

we have something similar that we’re going to make! Our next pack is a fence pack and after that is an industrial city, not sure if there will be houses in that pack though

still in our packs to make but just not sure when we’ll do it

Still going to be a great pack, i am looking forward to it’s release!

+1  12345

An easy way to do this, is just enable vertex painting and an opacity mask. That way you could actually “paint out” the area where the boat is and make the water inside the boat invisible.

There are some more advanced solutions for this problem, however, there are quite technical and not needed to be implemented for an art package.

As for the ships, I would love to see some more details on those. At the moment they look kinda flat.

Oh, and one more thing: A castle area would be really nice!

Awesome! We may add them in a future update. The boats are a nice added bonus we wanted in the pack and not the main attraction. We have since updated them to be more detailed and I will get some screenshots soon to show you.

Cool, can’t wait to see them!

We have submitted this to the Unreal Marketplace and you can see the updated images, videos on the original post!

Need a new promotion… WINTER30 !
