I can’t believe that someone was actually that patient to sit here and listen to my dumb problems, finds me a solution and I can’t even figure out how to set it up because I have ■■■■■■ up things so bad that I can’t un ■■■■ them.
Thank you so much for the help, but it seems I just don’t have the ability to follow a tutorial apparently.
Reserve an hour, grab a cookie + coffee. Create a separate project, assemble it piece by piece there. You might be getting screwed by something else. Been there, done that. Everyday.
Okay man I won’t give up on this feature that unity users laugh at and player won’t even see, but I won’t give it up. Thank you for the support.
Also I really turned this place into discord…
Well i opened the project you sent me and tried making my own widget. Very simple just 2 pages with 2 buttons that change to the other page. But there I’m pretty sure is some problem with widget switchers. I know it can’t be from the widget blueprint because i just copied the one you made. I could be wrong (and i hope so), but from what i can tell widget switchers really mess things up.
The switcher shouldn’t affect it. But I’ll have a look. If in doubt, post screenshots reflecting thr setup I posted. Sometimes it’s small detail.
Also, update I really went ahead and tried making my own widget, but I tried yours also and well, It did the same thing it didn’t disappear when I click exit or close. Tried setting it to hidden and it did close but the texture didn’t update. Note that I opened a copy in UE5.1 so I guess it could be from this.
I don’t have UE5, and I do not see retainers used often. It is possible that something is not working or the way it works changed in UE5.
I’ll have a closer look at what you posted next week.
Well after all I did just used the monitor being turned off technique and well:
Doesn’t look that bad in my opinion.
Out of sheer curiosity I peeked at the bug DB and there’s a bunch of new retainer related bugs, some even flagged as non-regressive, UE5 only issues; target fixes are UE 5.2 and UE 5.3.
None of the entries mention this particular issue - chances are it is simply yet to be reported as it’s not a common interaction.
