When i put the texture in my environment, can you see right side and in the far how its looking?
Why? If i put my camera on the top, i can see the texture better.
The terrain is quite large, that’s true, the resolution is 2048, from above it looks a bit better, but still in the area where some light reaches it, it is totally a disaster, I have lowered the skylight a little and well … It does not convince me, so I was wondering if I have a wrong option that causes that. If I tile much more, it looks worse. I’ve lowered the roughness and it still looks bad
… how is anyone supposed to help you without knowing what material parameters you are using?
it could literally be anything from an inverted normal map to a bad specularity or roughness channel.
I am using the blend material created by quixel where you can put the maps in there to blend, so i suppose the specuality and roughness are correct. Before that, i had created a material to blend and the results were the same
I just checked the normals and the green channel is flipped, so should be correct.
You’ll need to provide more details of the material. Get a screenshot of the graph, make sure it’s all visible in a large version of the screenshot (text is readable), and get a screenshot of at least some of the details panel settings (at the lower left when no nodes are selected in the material editor). Does the material and/or landscape have modified LOD settings?
The top layer blend is not connected from its Height pin. Wouldn’t it require being connected? I’m new to the Quixel blend material. Another thing is I’ve heard of issues with the crack free displacement feature. So, try looking up a few forum posts about that and a similar issue to yours. In the pictures it appears that at a distance the details are almost gone, or are partially removed / not rendered. Do you understand how most of the material setup works?
I will do that, looking up anothers forums with similar issue. The heigh pin is not necessary.
Might be in Quixel forum the answer.
I understand part of the material setup because is not mine.
Thanks for the help presto, i really appreciate it!
