please look at the gif, Why is this flickering? I thought Moire effect was only when moving. Why should this happen when standing still with a static mesh?
My guess: You need to create a LOD for this object.
What you experience here is z-fighting.
The LOD mesh can be a simple gray box - maybe with a texture.
From this distance you won’t see the fine lamellar structures anyway.
