Why is there a blink / flickering occuring when looking at a Directional Light?

Overview

In editor viewport when looked at the directional light, regardless of the light’s mobility, there is a blinking / flickering event occuring. I recently started having this problem but used the engine without a problem before.

Here is a video showing what’s going on.

System Information

  • Source Version 4.26.1 (tag: 4.26.1-release)
  • RTX2080 on i9 9900KF
  • Windows 10
  • GPU Driver is NVIDIA Studio Driver 461.72
  • [DxDiag.txt is in attachments][2]

Additional Info

My UE4 also started to flicker black when it stays out of focus. It goes away when I re-focus on the editor or try to record it.

What I Did So Far

  1. Recompiled Engine and Project.
  2. Changed GPU driver to Game Ready version.
  3. Made sure that UE4 program settings were OK on NVIDIA Control Panel.

What To Do?

What can I do now? Should I rollback to a previous GPU driver? Can anyone confirm that their engines work fine with RTX2080 on Driver version 461.72?

Solved by driver update NVIDIA 461.92 (Studio Driver).

I’m having a similar issue, it flickers white like in your video and then black.
I have been hunting for a fix, hopefully this will solve it.
Would be nice if it’s a simple fix!
