After updating the engine to 4.1 my project does not load anymore. The compiled version crashes instantly, the installer version shows the crash report on top.
Running on Win 8.1.
Example projects like Elemental Demo and Effects Cave are running fine.
Are you able to run this project in the 4.0.2 version. You can access this on the launcher in the dropdown menu to select which version of the editor you wish to use. Thank you!
If you installed 's Vertex Snap plugin then you have to remove it (including the line from DefaultEngine.ini). This is what caused my project to crash everytime I load it.
Could you walk me through the steps you took to get that dxdiag? I’m not familiar with that format and it doesn’t seem to have the information I am looking for. If you open your start menu on your desktop (not in editor), then type in cmd to the searchbar, it should pull up a command window. If you type dxdiag into that and press enter it should create the file I am looking for. Thank you!
It’s in German, that would be the Windows Error Reporting service crash report data overview instead of the DirectX Diagnostics log file output, atleast that’s what it looks like if it’s a .wer file, WER = Windows Error Report (used for EventLog), the file could be from an App Crash Viewer, or even an event log file viewer:
