Why is my light building not working?

Hello all! This is my first time posting here, and its an issue that’s been bugging me the past few days, but I cannot seem to get past it. Up until a few days ago, in my project before I added foliage in, I was able to build the lighting flawlessly. Now, though, when I go to build it, the lighting takes forever to build from 0% to anything and when I cancel it, map check tells me that there are errors with the lightmaps for my instanced foliage and that I should reduce the lightmap size to fix it. How do I do this and what is going on in my level?alt text

If needed, I can record a video of myself in the level to show what happens.

try to lower lightmap resolution of your foliage

If it takes a really long time after adding foliage, it just sounds like you have a lot of foliage.

For almost any decent amount of foliage, you’ll get that error, BTW.

To get rid of the error, use landscape grass type instead of the foliage tool:

This will use dynamic shadow for the grass. You can also get this using the foliage tool, but setting the meshes to moveable.
