Howdy. Unity user here making the switchover to Unreal. I I’ve run into a lighting issue. Firstly, all of the ceilings and walls in my building I imported are being lit up, and it changes shape depending on the camera angle. Secondly, all the shadows are dancing and moving around like water.
Not sure why the first is happening since I have an external shell around the facility, and the second I’m at a total loss for. Maybe something to do with raytracing? I enabled it, but I’m new to learning how to work with that as well. I just know it’s been mentioned on a few of the threads I’ve tried to read already, but they were related to other issues such as PPVs and hair cards.
Look at your landscape details for “Affect Distance Field Lighting” and if it is on, turn it off and the dark shadows should go away. I had something similar, and that was the first thing I found would make it stop. But that isn’t the final solution I found. This is just to verify it is the shadows being generated by the distance fields.
