Why is 5.1 VR preview pixellated/blurry?

I’ve tested in the VR template and other projects but the VR preview always looks awful. However, when I launch the game standalone or package it looks normal, it’s just the VR preview that looks like this

Forward shading = on
Mobile HDR = off
Instanced Stereo = on
Mobile multiview = on
AA method = MSAA
MSAA sample count = 4x

That may be caused if your render scaling is lowered. It should be between 87 and 100 %
