Thank you for posting in the community and sorry to hear about this issue. It can happen sometime if there is a hardware issue or in certain cases with Path Tracer.

I've had this problem quite recently - it was caused by having a very complex geometry (30M poly) and a lot of light objects (300+). I removed the lights from the import and this fixed the issue.
