I’m not sure if this is a bug or a feature but I can’t seem to be able to use the campfire if I have set the default class identifier in the island settings.
If you want to replicate, do this:
Make a very basic map
put in the campfire instance
run the game, you can light the fire
Go back, change the default class identifier to “class slot” and select any index (doesn’t seem to matter)
Run game, you can’t light the fire now
Why does this happen? Is there any way to change the default class identifier and still be able to light the campfire?
In the Campfire Device’s ‘Advanced’ Tab there is a variable for “Interacting Class”.
It defaults to ‘Any’ and I’d expect that to work with a manually set class identifier, but have you tested changing “Interacting Class” to ‘No Class’ or ‘Class Slot’?
Thanks for the answer! It seems like it should work for “any” as I want all players to be able to use it. I can set a player to be a class and it will still work, this only happens when the default class in the island settings is set to a class. It doesn’t look like that works for the “no class” (as expected) but it does work if I specifically set it to the same value as the default value (1 in this case). That’s a problem though as I want all players to be able to use it if they select a different class. Why doesn’t “any” work?
Thanks for checking, this may be considered a bug. I’m not aware of any bug-reporting form for UEFN issues, so I’ve moved this post from the ‘World Creation’ section to ‘Issues and Bug Reporting’
So this is still bugged, only solution I found to negate this is
Create Conditional Button that requires 30 wood, hide both button and hologram.
Create Health Powerup that heals amount that you want.
And place Campfire just for looks, you can light it up with Conditional button, you can even make Timer Device that turns it off after a while.
Its 4 devices instead of one, hopefully they see this and realize it’s an actual bug , you don’t even get healed if you’re in a Class.
If anyone from Fortnite is reading this: I have survival map where people would want to light a fire to heat up “heal” because they are constantly loosing HP. I wanned to make class system for different levels of classes, so that I can let through the tougher zones Class 2 but still damage a lot Class 1. That’s only 1 example.
