Why does Ndisplay render blurry?

I am using the MPCDI projection policy in Ndisplay but when providing different PFM files, some render nice and sharp while others render all blurry and out of focus?

Two example PFM files are simulating these setups:

In the blurry setup, the camera is relatively close to the plane.
In the sharp setup, the camera is farther from the plane.

Their resulting views are:
blurry
sharp
Note the grid on the left where it is much more legible in the latter setup.

How do I ensure Ndisplay renders a sharp image irrespective of the input PFM file?

any solution ?

I’m also having the same issue using the mesh policy for a curved display.

The viewpoint in the phyiscal space is fairly close to the display, but this setup in NDisplay creates blurry undesirable content. I’ve had to move the viewpoint back a few meters to fix it, but this isn’t really ideal.

If anyone has a solution for this I would greatly appreciate it! <3

For anyone still trying to solve this btw…

Make sure that your Mesh pivots for the screens are NOT located at or near the viewing location and are central to the mesh instead.

I tried your solution, but it couldn’t solve the ambiguity issue. Could you explain the principle behind it?

Still no solution :smiling_face_with_tear:

met same thing with 3-in-1 screen mesh. The solution is split mesh to smaller pieces and reconstruct it to one with VPs (in my case this is 3 separated screen-meshes instead of one). There is some restrictions in ndisplay or in engine for max size of rendertarget (i think). So dont allow wide-angle with big resolution.

BUT then I met another thing: postprocess (exposure too) of scene is applying separately to each VP. But thats completily another story… (long story short: no solution but manual exposure, not a problem in my case)
