So I’m using the same video assets from previous versions and now with 4.4, when you attach a video for your project, compile your game, and of course launch, it’s quite choppy and slow. Any ideas?
Howdy 87Kevo,
Thank you for reporting you issue. Would you be able to attach your log files and your DXdiag so that I may further investigate the issue? Would you happen to have multiple windows open when attempting to view the video? Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and have a great day!

So Sean I’m not actually getting an error. It’s just when the video plays it’s not running at 60FPS nor 30FPS most likely less. I have a GTX 780 ti SC from EVGA with everything updated driver wise. Not quite sure why it’s doing that. It does it in both editor and after I compile game.
Would you happen to have multiple editor windows open when viewing the video? The editor can be very stressful to a graphics card and have multiple videos open could cause the video to receive low fps.
Hey 87Kevo,
Just wanted to check in with you and see if your FPS has been a bit better with the 4.4.1 update? If not, please let me know so that I may further investigate the issue.
Thanks!
Glad to hear that your issue has been resolved. If you do come across this issue in a later build, be sure to open this issue so that i may re-investigate. Thanks and have a great day!
Hey Sean.
Thanks for getting back to me and yes with 4.4.1 it seems to have fixed the problem. I never had this issue until 4.1 and not sure what it was. I’m running a GTX 780 ti SC from EVGA on a AMD FX 8350 so I have quite a beefy rig but to answer your question, even when I have multiple editor windows open I never ran into this issue. Hopefully the hotfix cures this issue for good.
Thanks,
Kevin
so I am using the latest version of ue4 as of now (4.15.2) and the video seems to be very choppy. The video was rendered at 60fps however it still looks very choppy. I don’t believe it is a hardware issue as I am using a core i7 with a gtx 1080 ti. any suggestions would be appreciated. The only thing is the video has a very high bit rate but I don’t see how that should affect it. Thanks

Hello,
I’m having the same issue. I’ve got some 3D-Videos to be rendered in an HMD and either they really stutter with the windows media player plugin or they stutter a little less with the VLCPlugin but that plugin has the issue that I can’t set a faster playback speed (even 2x doesn’t work)
The videos work flawlessly in the desktop version of VLC
Kind Regards
