If you have simulate physics on and are expecting it to fall to the ground… I imagine what is happening is that there is a collision sphere around the mesh that is causing it to roll… In your view port at the top left, under show > turn on collision to see is that is the case. if it is you can open up the mesh and select use complex as simple under collisions to create a form fitting collision.
