Why do my particles look like trash in the editor?

I have an unchanged particle system that I opened in the editor, and it looks like garbage (see attached).
I assume this is an editor setting somewhere.
How can I fix it?

Top is same (copied) file in my project. Bottom is same file open in new project.

You could try checking your engine scalability settings. Go to the toolbar and select “settings” and then “engine scalability settings” should be one of the options. Put all of them on Epic or so and see if that changes anything.

If that isn’t the issue, you could try checking your post process effects, if you have any. Go to your post process volume and uncheck the “enabled” setting (that should turn the whole thing off).

If you still see no change…I guess use the console commands Stat FPS and Stat Unit to just check that something isn’t severely hindering your render for some reason? Or maybe try adjust lighting? It could be a lot of things at this point.

Sorry, I was unclear. They don’t just look wrong in the Unreal Editor (viewport).
They look wrong in the PARTICLE editor (see attached).

So it’s not an issue with a PPV, lighting, or anything in my scene. It’s some setting somewhere.

Everything was already set to Epic.

Ah. I don’t know much about cascade then. Sorry.
