Why are there streaky noise artifacts on my renders?!?!

.. I tried turning off screen trace and lowering reflections and its still happening in 5.6, this worked in previous versions.

That doesn’t look like reflections to me, because the streaks also cover the sail.
These look like deliberate wind effects or speed lines.
Are you using some marketplace content that might have that effect built in?

Is that single layer water?

I managed to get rid of those flashing streaks by temporarily tweaking the Lumen view distance:

Anybody know a solution for this? [SLW1] . There is no Z fighting . Tried removing almost everything from the level, no effect . Same setup works fine in many other levels . Tuned the material until I’m blue in the face . Etc…

its not some kind of speed effect on the water, it happens all over the scene I had this problem before and turned reflections down to epic and it went away (in 5.3).

I tried setting the lumen scene view distance to 50000, same problem

The critical thing is to set it, and then back, almost immediately.

Although, it does look like you have something else going on there…

You might try tinkering with AA method, or turning off TSR.

Thanks I think you pointed me in the right direction, this seems to have fixed my issue and I only have a vague understanding as to why lol.
