I have a UE5 project where there is a lamp and an object around it. The lamp has an emission to it as well. When I move far away from the lamps and the chains that hold them, the objects flicker. They also flicker when they move in game. Does anyone know why this might be happening? The lamp and what hold it are not on top of each other, and changing anti-aliasing has not fixed it when the objects move. I have included a link to a video of this problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Baq-Vq0WKM
Greetings @User-31e3dcabf2
Welcome to the Unreal Engine Community Forum. The flickering you’re seeing there I see in games all the time. I think it’s to do with AA or sometimes dynamic shadows. You could try adjusting that. It’s something I see even in big AAA titles.
When I change the anti aliasing method, I can reduce the flicker on objects, but the shadows of objects end up flickering really badly. Is that a problem with my post processing, or is it due to my project settings?
I ended up fixing this issue! It was due to anti aliasing, but changing that would result in the shadows flickering instead. I just fixed the flickering shadows by turning off ray traced shadows.
Oh, I see! Well, I’m happy that you found a solution! Have a great week!
