Why are all my Megascans imported texture very low res?

Hi all,

I have been trying to import megascans both objects and textures into my project and for some reason I cant figure out, the textures are all defaulting to being 64x64 rather than the resolution I imported them in which is either 2k, 4k or 8k.

If I try to turn off the virtual texture streaming it just makes it the original size but the texture goes black…

Idk if there is any setting for this or something. This is only happening in one of my PCs, the other one is fine, everything works as intended.

Have you tried just zooming in with the mouse wheel here?

Also, do you have a red message about the streaming pool in the main viewport?

Hi,

Yeah when I scroll in I can just see the texture is low resolution

I dont have the red streaming pool message no.

Check your Maximum Texture Size in the texture editor and Max LOD Size for the World Texture Group.

seems to be correct

For some reason the textures keep randomly flashing very quickly the word texture over the thumbnails too

Not sure if your issue is the same as what I was dealing with, because I didn’t have a texture at all, just a tint, but I fixed it by going into project settings and enabling virtual texture support on mobile. I hadn’t checked that box because I didn’t think it was relevant.

I had the exact same issue, but I solved it using this method.
