I started using TM in 2017 before merging with Unreal. That's how long I waited for this feature. From their support forum to now this place, the only answer we got is "This is a must-come planned feature, just wait for it". Ok.
what happened in between? Enscape and D5render are eating the market fast, and Vantage is showing its potential with Corona/vray support, Lumion still struggles but with a large number of users. Guess what, they all have render passes/elements from the early version or day-1.
Well, you may say they are busy with other things like path tracing integration and Sketchfab and so on. I agree, those are great features, loving it. But is the render passes feature more important than some material enhancement and asset library expansion?
You may also heard the answer before as "we will introduce the feature as long as the UNREAL ENGINE support it". Well, if you are familiar with unreal, you know years back the cyptematte export is integrated and now you can export exr. format image with desired "passes" even, so why the feature is still not showing in TM years later?
Even worse like 3 years ago, there is no D5render and escape is not acquired by Chaos, many people started to trying TM as an alternative workflow for future (mostly from Lumion). But now, most of them lost interest in TM, ONLY cuz of the lacking of this essential feature, which no one knows how long we still need to wait for. But buz and time are not gonna wait. So many visual companies (at least in Chinese market as I know) switch to D5 now, no one even mentions TM, since if they need some interactive real-time sh*t, just use unreal 5. why TM, right?
So may I ask, where is the feature of RENDER ELEMENTS/PASSES?
