I have read everything I could find in search of the answer. I’ve even submitted tickets and tried asking in chat support, but nobody will give me an answer, or even a ballpark idea. I just get told to read the documentation because they don’t know what I’m talking about, and my question is too technical .
It’s a simple question. When will the new 5.6 updates, such as the metahuman creator inside Unreal, be added to Mac? Please, nobody try to dig into me for having a Mac, I’m done with that nonsense.
No one knows, I’m afraid. It doesn’t seem to be very high priority for Epic.
One can create and animate MetaHumans on Windows and, with some fidgeting, get the results working in the Unreal Editor on macOS, but now that Apple Silicon is so capable, it’d be nice if we could use it to do more production in Unreal without fear.
Yeah I’ve come to the conclusion that nobody knows, not even the Unreal folks, but that’s not stopping me from keeping my ticket open until they give me an answer that isn’t “Go read the forums”.
epic seem to be primarily supporting this ever increasingly spyware, bloatware and unusable Os called windows and linux and macos are treated as 2nd and 3rd class citizens only, only getting features later.
We cuold use some official “hey this feature won’t be avaiable until x.x version on this specific platform” I dont know who’s runnin the communication / media department at epic but they seem to comepletely miss what they’re supposed to do
