This is a random question, but when should I build my lighting in my game? can I do it half way through making it or should I wait until it’s closer to being done? not all the set is done yet but I have the basic lighting down for now. Can I build to see how it will look? I am in UE5. at the moment I have A LOT of emissive material.

The main question, before we even go there, is ‘do you need static lighting?’
Most people are just using moveable lights in UE now, especially as Lumen is dynamic.
You only need static lighting if you’re making the game for a very specific ( and low power ) platform, like mobile. Possibly VR.
Just make your lights moveable, and the message about building lighting goes away.
