Hi Frequia,
Before trying any of the below, in your project do you have a lightmass importance volume set up? If not, try placing that in your scene and scaling to fit your playable area. Build your lighting, then if it fails please follow the details below.
Can you attach your dxdiag here for us to take a look at? You can get this by going to your command prompt > type in dxdiag > save to text file once it completes.
Is this only happening in this one project or is it multiple projects that you try to build lighting on?
Thank you!
Tim
My specs are:
Asus Maxsimus IV Extreme
Asus Nvidia GeForece GTX 680 2GB
Intel i7 2600K
8GB ram
750W PSU
I have the LightMassImportanceVolume and I havent touched the settings. Heres the DXDiag:

Sorry, I meant to ask these in the previous post.
What version of the engine are you using?
Also, is this happening in this level only, or are you able to reproduce this in a new project or one of the example projects that has been provided?
Thank you!
I use the latest version, 4.2.1. Now it seems to work. I created a new third-person blueprint project. Added a 63x63 terrain and the M_Ground_Moss material. Did some sculpting and the error hasnt occurred yet. Maybe the last terrain (255x255, a first-person blueprint) was too large for the lightmass? Thanks for your help, again Tim
Hi Frequia,
I’m glad you’ve got it working. I’m not sure if this is a direct limitation of Lightmass Importance Volume. It is best to keep these down to areas that are more where the player will be able to access. Having one covering an area as large as that is probably not the best solution.
If you run into any problems with your new build having a similar issue feel free to post your questions here.
Thank you!
Tim
