When are we going to get some word on fixes for the current state of VR?

Vr has degraded in performance between UE4.15 and 4.17. I’ve seen other people reporting on the same thing and no official word on what is going on or how to work around it. Creating a blank scene in UE4.17 and implementing a very basic VR setup, and doing so in 4.17 will yield two different performance levels. What has happened in 4,17 that is causing the stuttering and general poor performance ?
